Sennheiser aimed for a sweet spot with the Accentum Plus noise-canceling headphones. These wireless over-ears are a step up from the original Accentum, adding more adaptive noise cancellation, touch controls, and a wider, more spread-out sound presentation. Their feature set inches closer to Sennheiser's flagship Momentum 4 over-ears, while the design and materials feel pleasant, but not quite as premium.

I found the Accentum Plus headphones fit snugly on the ears, with little pressure on my head from the softly padded headband. They offer above-average noise cancellation at this price — and managed to silence the noisy appliances in my laundry room before I even hit play. Music plays wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.2, and they boast up to 50 hours of battery life.

Strong, high-quality wireless audio
Along with Bluetooth 5.2, aptX™ Adaptive technology is on board. This versatile wireless audio codec automatically detects if you're in an area with competing Bluetooth signals, and it will optimize either reliability or sound quality accordingly. It can also sense when you're watching a video on, say, Netflix or YouTube, and keep latency low. So, the audio and video should be better synced up.

Optional mobile app for your personal sound profile
That said, you can tailor the sound to your liking with Sennheiser's Smart Control app. It's a free download for Android™ and Apple®, and lets you adjust the EQ manually or choose from a few presets. Or you can take it one step further with Sennheiser's "Sound Personalization" feature. The app takes you through a series of listening tests to assess your preferences, then special algorithms help calibrate the sound accordingly.
